Kanye West breaks week-old vow of silence on Obama: He's 'trying to be cool'
Kanye West has broken his stony silence on President Barack Obama, to the relief of a nation that waited for a week wondering when the "Yeezus" rapper would once again offer his thoughts on the leader of the free world.
West, who vowed during a Nov. 18 radio interview to never mention the president of the United States again, felt compelled to broach the topic once again during a Monday interview on Hot 97, bravely reconsidering his stance on whether or not to discuss the nation's chief executive so that he could declare himself and his fiancee, Kim Kardashian, "most relevant."
"The reason why Obama mentioned our name is 'cause we most relevant. Case in point! So if I say that, that's cause it's the case in point," West attempted to explain. "He just say that trying to be cool! Obama was supposed to be the coolest person on the planet, now he gotta say our names to be cool. It's like a feature; we featured in his interviews right now. They need a feature from us to get relevant!"
